The latest issue of Adobo Magazine is out!

Too bad Tin and I are here in Saigon and can't run to Fully Booked to get our copies. And probably someone else in our old office will be getting our old subsriptions. Good thing Tin's mum got one and scanned and sent us a copy of the cover. Wow! Nice retouching Gelo! Can't wait to read the issue. I hope Wella doesn't forget to bring one on her vacation here with Kuya (Budjette).

The news might be old in Manila but it's still new news to us here in Ho Chi Minh. Tin sent a email to Dave, Golda (the Account Director who helped us with the campaign) and to me. Here it is.

Dave, Golds, Brands...

Sorry for this flurry of the emails. Just received the scans of adobo pages from my mom, who sent everything that had my pic or name on it. Hehehe! mommies are the best.

Anyway, just want to share with you my thoughts, strange they may be.

Some things that could've been signs leading to the win:

1. Dave being quoted in Cutting Edge Radio (Of all books!)
2. Golda marrying Onat, which meant that the anagram of her name would be RAN A GOLD LOAD.
3. Dave saying to me during my evaluation, 'I think you should win a Gold Lion..Concentrate on radio (to which I could only choke of course...)

There. Sorry I indulge. I'm even more insufferable in person. Hehehe.

radio city manila

Written by Craig Davis in his blog

As we pursue our time-based creative philosophy we could easily be seduced by the idea of an all new-media diet. Certainly the notion of spending the morning listening to the radio feels very old fashioned - you want me to what? Sit still while distant voices speak at me?

Thanks to Dave Ferrer and his clever team in Manila for reminding us all what great theatre radio can provide. Great ideas come from everywhere, yes, but a great idea can also exist anywhere - including good ol’ radio. And since we make thousands of radio spots a year, let’s make sure we make very good ones worth spending time with. These first three spots by Dave and his team for Lotus Spa won gold at Cannes - a simple, involving idea beautifully executed. They’ve followed up with work for Comic Quest, again a simple idea executed with strong production values. So crank up your crystal sets, turn on your transistors and let’s not forget that every medium, new and old, presents us with opportunities to do good stuff.

(Craig was able to upload the radios in his blog. Plus, he's ulpoaded a photo of Dave in his entree too.)
